Welcome to the Chester Yacht Club
Chester Yacht Club (CYC) is a private sailing club situated on beautiful Mahone Bay with excellent access to the best sailing in Canada. CYC is host to Canada’s largest keelboat regatta, Chester Race Week, the much-anticipated and highly regarded annual Opti Jam dinghy regatta, and is home to robust and internationally respected IOD and Bluenose fleets. Our objective is to encourage Club members to become more proficient in the personal management, maintenance and handling of their boats; to promote safety, proper navigation and seamanship; to provide social and instructional activities in the interests of all Club members and their guests; and to enhance the sport of sailing within our membership and community.

New CYC Director of Sail Training
CYC members:
We would like to welcome Jennifer Fraser to our Chester Yacht Club team.
Jennifer will be assuming the role of Director Sail Training going forward.
Jennifer brings a wealth of experience in program management and team development. She has a long standing attachment to the sailing community in Chester as a local Bluenose sailor as well as having been President of the Canadian Optimist Sailing Team and member of the Sail Nova Scotia Board.
The CYC Executive would like to thank Christine Santimaw for the tremendous efforts she has put into getting the Learn-To-Sail program to where it is today. Christine should be proud of the results many of those in the program have achieved over the past few years representing a testament to the program’s success.
