CYC New Year’s Day Levee Update

kimmyjThis Week at CYC

CYC Members,

As many of you know, the clubhouse is currently under construction and unfortunately is not suitable to host a crowd at this time. As a result, Chester Yacht Club will NOT be open for the New Year’s Day Levee or Polar Swim on January 1st.

That said, we know some of our brave members still enjoy welcoming the New Year with a cold-water plunge. Freda’s Beach has been a common spot for many in previous years, and anyone wishing to take part is encouraged to head there for a New Year’s Day ocean dip. Please note that this is not an organized or hosted event — neither CYC nor the Municipality of Chester will be hosting, and participation is entirely at your own risk.

We’ll continue to keep you in the loop regarding winter potlucks and upcoming club gatherings as plans take shape. As part of the renovation, contractors have discovered significant rot in the older section of the clubhouse on the third floor, which means the work may take longer than originally expected. On a positive note, the first new window has been installed, which is exciting to see.

Wishing everyone a happy, healthy New Year — we look forward to being back together at the club soon.
