Welcome to the Chester Yacht Club

Chester Yacht Club (CYC) is a private sailing club situated on beautiful Mahone Bay with excellent access to the best sailing in Canada. CYC is host to Canada’s largest keelboat regatta, Chester Race Week, the much-anticipated and highly regarded annual Opti Jam dinghy regatta, and is home to robust and internationally respected IOD and Bluenose fleets. Our objective is to encourage Club members to become more proficient in the personal management, maintenance and handling of their boats; to promote safety, proper navigation and seamanship; to provide social and instructional activities in the interests of all Club members and their guests; and to enhance the sport of sailing within our membership and community.

2019 CYC Nominating Committee

As prescribed by the Chester Yacht Club Constitution I have appointed the 2019 Nominating Committee.

Committee members are: Barbara Grigsby, Past Commodore, and Gillian Reid, Past Vice Commodore, and Stephen Flinn, CYC member. This committee will seek, receive and consider nominations for the Executive Officers and for members of the Long Range Planning Committee. The nominating committee shall be required to table it’s report to the executive at least 10 days prior to the Annual General Meeting. Notice of the slate of proposed nominees for the Executive Officers and members of the Long Range Planning Committee will be posted on the notice boards and website at least 10 days prior to the AGM.
