This is Jacob and Graeme Saunders. We grew up in Chester, Nova Scotia where we first started sailing at ages 10 and 11. In 2010 we teamed up in the Olympic Two-Person Dinghy, the 470. We are now members of the Canadian Sailing Team and we’re campaigning to represent Canada at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
We recently placed 4th at the 2013 Miami Sailing World Cup and are ranked in the top 50 in the world. We’re working hard toward our goal of qualifying Canada for the Olympics and need your help to get there! Sailing is a very expensive sport and in order to get to the next level we need to hire our coach Nigel Cochrane for two more events this season.
As a new fundraising campaign we’re taking part in a new online crowdsourcing site called “Pursuit”. Our goal is to raise $8,000 and we absolutely have to reach that goal in 60 days or we won’t see any of the money. We are looking for donations anywhere from $1 to $1,000, the trick is to just get our video seen by as many people as possible.
If you feel you can make a donation we would really appreciate it! Our minimum goal is $8,000 but we want to see how far we can take this! Please forward this email onto your friends or spread the word any way you can.
